Salt Lake City Evangelism

Conversations in Salt Lake City In February, I traveled to Salt Lake City for a work conference. While in the city, I took time to visit the grounds of the Salt Lake Temple , a central site of worship for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints . During my visit, I walked around the temple grounds on a couple of occasions and had the opportunity to speak with three different pairs of LDS missionaries. First Conversation: Listening and Learning In my first conversation, I quickly realized that I was not as familiar with LDS beliefs as I would have liked to be. Rather than attempting to challenge their views without a solid understanding, I chose to ask questions and listen carefully. Some of the key questions I asked included: What is considered Holy Scripture? What does salvation mean in your faith? How do works relate to faith? Serve Ministry 2/28

On February 28th, my family, friends, and I went into the city with a simple mission: serve others with food, prayer, and the Word of God. In preparation for the day, we made nearly 150 sandwiches and burritos. We also organized snack bags, hygiene kits, and Bibles to distribute to those we encountered. Once we arrived, we set up a table where people could stop by to receive food, essential items, and prayer. Throughout the day, we were able to hand out many meals and hygiene supplies while also taking time to talk with people and pray with those who desired it. These conversations were meaningful moments of connection that reminded us how important it is to simply be present and willing to listen. After the table was set up, a few members of our group began walking around the area to meet people where they were. We handed out food directly to individuals we encountered and spent time speaking with them, learning their stories, and offering encouragement and prayer.

Statement of Faith

  The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal. Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and thus atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.

12/20 Care Ministry

This Saturday we set up at a gas station and handed out food. The goal was to bring the light of Jesus to this part of town.I planned for 40 people worth of food and had my doubts if all of that would be given away. We were prepared with food, bibles, hygiene items, and cold weather clothes. But God had bigger plans, we went through all of that and more. We had people buy more food at least four times during the event, and we ran out of hygiene items, bibles and clothes.   During the event we prayed with people, and were able to share Jesus with people. At one point a few of us broke off into pairs and walked around handing out food and praying for people. 9/27 Pride Fest Evangelizing

Today I went to Virginia pride fest at the bon secour training facility with three guys from church. Before going to the event we met for coffee before hand to ask questions, read scripture, verify salvation, verify no footholds for the enemy, and pray. This was a good time asking questions and preparing for the event. Once we finished at the coffee shop we headed to the event. On the way to the event we split into pairs, two groups of two. It was a large venue, they were expecting 40,000+ people but with the rain but with the rain it was a fraction of that. At pride fest there were food trucks, concert stage, and vendor booths. We spent most of our time talking with the people at the booths. I will share four conversations, and what went well and what we can improve.  What we did well: I asked for help, I did not go alone I was deliberate with my clothing, I tried to be as welcoming as possible. 9/19 Charlie Kirk vigil revival

  Tonight my family and I went to a Charlie Kirk vigil in Chesterfield. To be honest we were not sure what we were getting ourselves into and had some reservations. It was clear once we got there though, the focus of the night was Jesus and the Gospel. We worshipped together, heard the Gospel with Romans Road, a call for the unsaved to make Jesus their Lord and Savior, said the sinners prayer together, praying for newly saved people, and ended with more worship. This was a revival, and Charlie Kirk’s death was the reason to have a revival in chesterfield county. This was my first revival I have been to and it was powerful. It was truly amazing to see people raise there hands to be saved and be prayed over. I feel convicted to lead a revival in the city.

9/13 43rd Street Festival

  My family and I went to the 43rd street market this Saturday. We went around 12 pm. We stopped at forest hill park first to read some scripture and prayed before heading over. We read Peter 3:13-17 and Acts 2:37-41. We walked around for a bit and talked to a few people, but left early because I was feeling overwhelmed: it was hot, I had our dog, I was wearing my ruck and our diaper bag, and we walked there. I realized I tried to do too much, the main purpose of being there was to pick up trash and witness. We came back later as the event was wrapping up, we did not bring the dog this time, we drove, and I had nothing on my back. When walking around a guy asked me “If I am really living it?” in reference to my Jesus Won shirt. We responded with a yes that we are followers of Jesus. This man prayed with us in the middle of the street. We had a nice conversation, he mentioned he is in recovery but he is saved by Jesus.
